The Lexus IS, originally sold under the name "Toyota Altezza", has become a popular entry-level car to modify in the car world because they have the practicality of being a sedan, but the luxury and decent power capability that many people want.
In today's Fitment Guide, we'll go through a few Fitment options focusing specifically on the 2nd generation, codenamed XE20, that spans the years 2005 to 2013. We will breakdown a stock suspension, coilover, and air suspension fitment.
The 2nd generation Lexus IS was offered in 4 models and engine options, including a 2.5L V6 in the IS 250, a 3.0L V6 in the IS 300, a 3.5L V6 in the IS 350, and a 2.2L Diesel in the IS 220D.

The first Lexus we'll breakdown a square setup on this 2011 Lexus IS 250 that's riding on stock suspension with some 18x9+36 XXR 530D wheels wrapped in 235/35 Goodyear all-season tires and riding on stock suspension.
Sticking with your vehicle's stock suspension is common for people who don't want to sacrifice any comfort or driveability with suspension upgrades like coilovers or even lowering springs. It also requires no modifications or trimming as some suspension upgrades require.
XXR 530D Review
The wheels on this Lexus IS 250 are the 18x9 +36 XXR 530D wheels in both the front and the rear for a square setup.
The XXR 530D is a one-piece alloy wheel with a unique inset dual 7-spoke wheel design. This wheel is offered in a Chromium Black finish, a Graphite Gray with a machined lip, a Candy Red finish, and a Silver finish with a machined lip.
An 18-inch wheel for this IS 250 falls right in the middle of the recommended fitment specs and fills the wheel well, so this is a safe wheel size option.
Goodyear All-Season Review
Goodyear is actually the first tire manufacturing company in America and they are known for their all-season tire compounds, which is what this Lexus IS 250 is running; 235/35 Goodyear Assurance All-Season tires.
All-season tires usually have a deep tread depth to adapt to different environments or seasons, hence the name "all-season". If you're looking for a tire designed with fuel-efficiency and comfort in mind, Goodyear's all-season tires are exactly that.
They can handle dry and wet road conditions and even a little snow or ice. If you live somewhere that gets more than an inch or two of snow, however, it's recommended that drivers get a winter tire to handle more extreme conditions.

Build Breakdown
The second Lexus we're breaking down is this 2007 Lexus IS 250 with 18x10.5 Kansei Tandem wheels wrapped in 225/40 Continental All-Season tires and riding on Tein Street Advance Z coilovers.
Kansei Tandem Review
Kansei is a reputable wheel company that's passionate about simplicity and high-quality when it comes to their wheel designs.
Due to their Formlite process, they are able to achieve an excellent strength to weight ratio making them a popular manufacturer for track-focused builds.
The Kansei Tandem on this Lexus IS 250 is a 18x10.5 again fitting within that recommended spec range for the Lexus IS. This specific setup does have a poke stance so the wheels are pushed out slightly past the fender.
The Tandem is a notorious 6-spoke wheel from Kansei with decent concavity and unique rounded spokes that stretch to the outer edge of the wheel.
They offer this wheel in two stunning finishes, the Gloss Gunmetal Gray finish and the stunning Bronze finish that this IS 250 is running.
Continental All-Season Review
Continental Tires has been manufacturing award-winning technologies in their tires beginning in 1871 They offer a huge range of tires for trucks and cars and are proud to offer a Total Confidence Plan for all their tires.
The Continental tires that this 2007 Lexus IS 250 has are an all-season in a 225/40 tire size. Since this tire is an all-season, it can handle a variety of environments, but if you're looking for a more track-focused tire, they do offer a performance line up as well.

Tein Street Advance Z Coilover Review
Tein is a very popular aftermarket suspension company, especially for Japanese car platforms since they are a Japanese-based company.
Tein is known for their "made in Yokahama" build quality and expertise in suspension upgrades.
The coilovers on this build are lowered on are from Tein's Street Advanced Z series and did require the fenders to be rolled for that perfect fitment.
The Street Advanced Z series coilovers are designed with damping force adjustment so you can modify the comfort and handling of your car depending on the driving situation.
This series of coilovers are also EDFC compatible with some vehicle models. This is where the driver can easily adjust damping from the driver's seat using electronic controllers.

For our last fitment breakdown, we're diving into this 2006 Lexus IS 250 running a staggered setup on 18x8.5 +30 (front) & 19x9.5 +22 (rear) ESR SR01 wheels wrapped in 225/35 (front) & 245/35 (rear) Accelera Phi tires, riding on air suspension.
ESR SR01 Review
ESR was founded in 2014 and offers an assortment of one and three-piece wheel designs. They are generally known to be more of an entry-level wheel company, however, in recent years, they have created some very popular wheels in their rotary-forged wheel lineup.
The ESR SR01 is a one-piece wheel that features a very unique 10-spoke wheel design with the look of a three-piece wheel.
This IS 250 is running a staggered setup of 19x8.5 +30 in the front and 19x9.5 +22 in the rear giving it a wider stance in the back. This is a nearly flush stance with only some slight modifications of pulling and rolling the fenders.
Accelera Phi Tire Review
Accelera is highly focused on performance, elegance, and safety in their tire designs and manufacturing. They make tires for a variety of applications like light SUVs, trucks, sedan cars, and 4x4 vehicles, but are generally known for their performance tires.

Air Suspension Review
Riding on air suspension is a popular suspension choice for the Lexus IS 250 community. Similar to this Lexus IS 250, air suspension can dramatically change the way your car sits and rides on the road.
This particular setup with the 19-inch wheels did require the fenders to be pulled and rolled as well as some removing of plastics pieces hidden in the wheel well for perfect fitment.
When looking at all the suspension options available for your car, make sure to consider the fitment of your suspension with other pieces in your wheel well like the plastic coverings, other suspension components, and even fenders.
